Please note that this is a educational project and I am not trying to promote or sell any of the given content. In 1996, a new filmmaker in Kollywood emerged in the form of Ameer. With a series of films, including his debut 'Pithamagan' in 2003, he had released four films before he became one of Tamil Nadu's greatest film directors. Not stopping at directing movies, Ameer ventured into producing too with his own company called Dreamscape Entertainment. Although he has produced some good films, he has given us some spectacular films too, including 'Anjaan' in 2014. His style was different, his subjects were different and he had an amazing way of presenting his subject without allowing it to become predictable or boring. You never know what to expect from Ameer and that's what made him such a big name in Kollywood. Although I'm not a huge fan of his later works such as 'Veyil' and 'Soodhu Kavvum', I can safely say that he is one of the best Tamil filmmakers working today. Despite having so many successful movies under his belt, the director has not been able to win any prestigious award for directing or producing. Despite having a director of Ameer's caliber, Tamil Cinema has not been able to stand on par with Hindi cinema when it comes to Producing/Directing awards. In 2015, the National Film Awards Association recently started a new award called the Directorate Award for Best Feature Film in each of the four languages namely Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Here is a list of the winners so far: TamilTeluguKannadaMalayalamWhile this award was started in 2015 by the Directorate of Film Festivals, it was not until 2016 that this new award became an additional national level award for every film separately from Best Film and Best Director. In 2017, a new award for Best Actor and Best Actress was introduced to the National Film Awards. This award is presented at a ceremony on the eve of the National Film Awards for a set of Tamil and Malayalam films. In 2018, a new award for Best Children's Film was introduced to the National Film Awards. It is given at a separate Children's film awards ceremony held every year along with 24 other categories, which include two screenplay writing awards that will be conferred by brand Ambassador of Smile Foundation, Priyanka Chopra. The Smile Foundation will felicitate one writer in each Indian language (apart from English) who has penned down the most outstanding story intended for children between 18 years and below 18 years. Tamilnadu is the first state after the introduction of this award to announce its decision of nomination for not one but two awards. As per the announcement made by Tamil Film Producers Council president Vishal, his production ‘Oru Naal Koothu’ will be competing against director Ameer's 'Vikram Vedha' for this coveted award. Here are the nominations of both contenders for this new award:Directed by Gokul starring Atharvaa, Kajal Aggarwal and Nayanthara, 'Oru Naal Koothu' is a thriller comedy with horror elements. cfa1e77820
